The cottage is completely off the grid, with no electricity. The cottage functions perfectly well with water from the river, gas for cooking and cooling, solar for lighting, and a wood fire for hot water and washing. It is a self-catering spot, so all you need to do is bring your own kit. The kitchen is fully equipped and all bedding is provided. There is a large deck overlooking the river and to top it all, you have got a proper braai also overlooking the river.

 

The nearest town is Winterton, roughly 20km away. A little bit farther is the Central Drakensberg and Champagne Valley. The Spioenkop Game Reserve and battlefield sites are a short drive away. Fishing in the river is great. Mountain biking, running, or walking on the farm is all welcome.
